In this role, you will:
- Support the day-to-day operations of Babcock Canada’s Victoria Jenkins Warehouse in support of the Victoria In Service Support Contract (VISSC).
- Provide optimal customer service to internal and external customers in the aid of production at the Esquimalt graving dock (EGD)
- Take on an active role in warehouse continuous improvement initiatives that support the business needs and to enhance operational effectiveness
- Conduct work in a manner that supports a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the warehouse and assigned compounds.
- Demonstrated experience in heavy equipment handling and lifting (10,000 kg)
- Support the Jenkins Warehouse Manager to ensure all material processes and procedures for responsible areas conform to Babcock standards.
- Manage various assigned activities including stock taking, material delivery and site inspections.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary and reasonable to support the business
The ideal candidate brings:
- At least two (2) years experience working in a warehouse/inventory operations environment.
- Experience in material management for major equipment or in a manufacturing environment. Experience with sheet/plate metals considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with subject matter experts, colleagues, and contractors.
- You are skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Outlook.
- You are experienced with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Experience with Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) would be considered an asset.
- Forklift experience with awkward/heavy loads.
- Valid B.C. drivers License (class 5) with experience driving flatbed truck or similar.
- Experience with hand and power tools (grinder, bandsaw, etc.)
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
- You hold a High School Diploma or equivalent (College or University diploma an asset).
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
