Expected Salary: $80,458 to $98,337
To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description

In this role, you will: 


•    Lead the assembly, modification, integration, testing, acceptance, and handover of communications systems equipment racks.
•    Execute functional testing and acceptance activities for Government-Supplied Material (GSM) communications equipment.
•    Integrate and test secure and non-secure radio communications systems and architectures.
•    Configure and validate physical TCP/IP networks, including fibre-optic and Ethernet infrastructure.
•    Commission, troubleshoot, and diagnose submarine communications systems.
•    Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, procedures, and test reports.
•    Mentor junior technologists and provide day-to-day technical guidance.
•    Collaborate across engineering and production disciplines to deliver integrated technical solutions.
•    Assess the impact of system and architecture changes on submarine communications capability.
•    Lead the technical execution of engineering changes affecting the Victoria-class External Communications System.
•    Use sound technical judgement to solve complex integration and test problems.

The ideal candidate brings: 


•    A post-secondary diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or Systems Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) in British Columbia, or eligibility to complete such registration within 12 months of commencing employment. 
•    8+ years of experience in communications systems rack build, modification, integration, and test activities.
•    3+ years of experience applying system requirements to the design, integration, or development of technical solutions.
•    Demonstrated success working in a multidisciplinary engineering and production environment.
•    Experience with secure and non-secure communications architectures.
•    Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, network topology, and physical communications infrastructure; CCNA or equivalent is an asset.
•    Familiarity with cybersecurity measures; CompTIA Security+ certification would be an asset.
•    Familiarity with, or certification to, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards would be an asset.
•    You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
