Expected Salary: $80,458 to $98,337
To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description

In this role, you will: 
•    Act as the primary on-site technical interface for in-service Communications System support between Babcock, the customer, and maintenance facilities.
•    Assess and communicate the impact of defects, engineering changes, and configuration issues on deployed ECS equipment and racks.
•    Track and maintain ECS configuration status to preserve in-service baselines.
•    Coordinate configuration changes across engineering, program, production, maintenance facilities, and customer teams.
•    Ensure technical documentation remains current and aligned with deployed configuration.
•    Monitor and report on system issues, material condition, support needs, and configuration changes.
•    Identify and help resolve technical, logistical, and documentation issues affecting equipment supportability.
•    Work with maintenance facilities, Ship’s Staff, and the customer to support maintenance planning, defect resolution, and technical investigations.

 

The ideal candidate brings: 
•    A post-secondary diploma in a relevant engineering or engineering technology discipline, such as Electrical, Electronics and/or Communications Systems,  or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) in British Columbia, or eligibility to complete such registration within 12 months of commencing employment. 
•    8+ years of experience supporting Combat Systems, communications systems, or in-service naval equipment.
•    Experience working directly with customers, maintenance organizations, or operational users in a field service or technical support environment.
•    Experience assessing the impact of engineering changes, configuration changes, defects, and deficiencies on in-service equipment.
•    Experience maintaining equipment configuration status, technical records, and in-service baseline information.
•    Working knowledge of configuration management, in-service support processes, and technical documentation practices.
•    Experience interpreting technical drawings, engineering records, work packages, and maintenance documentation.
•    Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, program, customer, and maintenance teams.
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently in a customer-facing field support role while exercising sound judgement and professionalism.
•    Knowledge of Victoria-class submarine systems, External Communications System (ECS), or related naval communications systems would be an asset.
•    Familiarity with, or certification to, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards would be an asset.
•    Experience navigating the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).
•    You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
