In this role, you will:
- Manage a team of up to 6 direct reports
- Oversee of the Certification information process
- Monitor and provide recommendation in regards of high risk NDs
- Supervise the preparation and submission of ARAR
- Plan, prepare, and conduct of Risk Review Board
- Define and control the relevant Certification information required for SSDR, IAW C-23-VIC-000-AG-001, Materiel Management and Certification in Submarines
- Define and create the SMCP (Submarine Materiel Certification Plan), to define the prerequisites for the SSDR
- Interpret Department of National Defence (DND) material certification requirements and take the steps necessary to prepare and present the material state reports as needed
- Supervise for the overall collation, interpretation, and presentation of the material status of the submarine as represented in DRMIS
- Provide constructive feedback to stakeholders regarding common shortfalls in DRMIS documentation
- Provide mentoring to applicable stakeholders in the use of DRMIS
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate brings:
- An accredited technical college diploma, or an acceptable combination of training and 8 – 10 years’ experience performing similar work
- Holds a diploma of Technology, Certificate of Technology, or equivalent experience and is registered as an Applied Science Technologist or Certified Technologist with the applicable provincial association
- Experience working in DND’s DRMIS or similar SAP application
- Practical experience with technical documentation review/analysis and with quality assurance processes
- A demonstrated knowledge of marine systems and/or submarine technical experience
- A high degree of understanding of submarine systems from hull, mechanical, electrical, and combat systems, and be able to assess whether the results and quality evidence are sufficient to support certification
- Clear understanding of submarine First Level (safety critical) technical documentation
- Eligibility for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
