In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate workload planning and supervise employees in the day-to-day operation and management of kit issue and return activities in support of VISSC
    • This includes, but is not limited to; order selection, shipping, receiving, inventory management, workload planning, processing materials and returns; manual equipment handling, input, and maintenance of applicable material management system at both the Devonshire and Jenkins warehouses.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with the development and training of new hires within the warehouse.
  • Identify and contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Report generation in Babcock’s inventory/enterprise control systems system to provide warehousing metrics establishing KPI’s.
  • Assist the warehouse manager with the development/maintenance of procedures and work instructions relevant to issues and returns.
  • Provide expertise with both internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for the occupational Health and Safety of all direct reports under my supervision and participate in monthly JHSC meetings.
  • Any other roles as deemed necessary and reasonable to support the business.

 

The ideal candidate brings:

  • You hold a minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • You hold APICs, Supply Chain certifications (considered an asset)
  • You have experience (5+ years) in a warehouse environment in a similar role.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • You have excellent organizational and time management skills; great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You have experience in the following areas:
    • Methods and practices used to receive, store, issue, transport, and distribute materials.
    • Data entry
    • Warehousing, stock control, and inventory management
    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (such as IFS)
    • Department of National Defence (DND) supply chain processes and Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) (an asset)
    • Certification with MHE, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. (An asset – additional training will be provided)
    • Workplace Hazardous Management Information Systems (WHMIS) (an asset – annual training is provided)
  • You have knowledge of material management for major equipment and systems.
  • You must be flexible for work hours; the successful individual may be required to work early mornings, late afternoons, and on-call weekends.
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
