Expected Salary: $57,508 to $71,885
To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

In this role, you will:
- Responsible for supporting Commissioning Managers (CMs) in coordinating commissioning functions, such as managing technical documentation and procedures required for the support of submarine commissioning activities for EDWP and in-service work periods.
- Manage procurement and supply chain activities as custodian of Commissioning held assets (Digital Assets, PPE and Fall arrest equipment).
- Support CMs in the coordination of and assist with development of resourcing plans (Lead administrator for Job Ads, eATRs, and onboarding).
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive the necessary introductions, resources, and initial training.
- Assist with administration of staff competencies and coordination of competency reviews.
- Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness, track outcomes, and provide feedback to participants and management.
- Maintain comprehensive training records for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Have strategic involvement via managing information and assisting with Policy development.
- Act as liaison between Commissioning and other internal departments /stakeholders. Supporting Commissioning with the necessary company updates and data, fostering better collaboration and alignment.
- Provide high-level administrative support as lead administrator and Site Owner of Commissioning group data and data systems (SharePoint, Nintex, etc.).
- Assist with development and administration of Commissioning metrics.
- Plan and manage the logistics for Commissioning group meetings, including distributing meeting materials, taking minutes, and tracking actions etc.
- Work directly with Boat Manager, Commissioning Managers, Principal Test Specialists (PTSs) and members of the Joint Test Group (JTG) in the review and maintenance of SOPs.
- Support Commissioning management with the day-to-day oversight and guidance to Commissioning Co-op students.
- Work with SQEP CG team with preparation of MS Visio drawings / flow-charts and development of Project plans using MS Project.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate brings:
- An expanded level of knowledge and experience with 2-5 years experience in a Business/Project Support role or technical coordinator/administrative assistant role.
- A strong work ethic and a “self starter” style to the role.
- Have advanced organizational, communication, and strategic skills.
- Strong administrative skills including post-secondary education from a recognized institution (Business Administration an asset).
- 2-5 years’ experience working in a project support, technical coordinator, technical/administrative assistant role.
- Very strong computer skills including MS Office suite, MS Visio, MS Project, SharePoint.
- Strong skills coordinating multiple tasks with limited degree of supervision.
- Excellent communicator both written and verbal across all levels of management.
- Strong Leadership qualities with the ability to provide informal mentorship within your domain.
- Experience in problem solving focusing on analytical solutions.
- A disciplined and holistic approach to procedures and processes ensuring alignment with company’s vision and principles understanding impacts across the team.
- Comfortable working in an industrial shipyard environment.
- Experience technical writing.
- Working knowledge of data management, including MS SharePoint lists/libraries.
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security, Controlled Goods, and ITAR Clearance.
