In this role, you will:
- Submarine Job Folder Review produced by FMFCS, and returned to FTA (the fleet technical authority),
- Identifying and maintaining the configuration baselines for the Victoria Class Submarine (VCS) on the Submarine Definition Database (SDD),
- Updating Safety Registers in the Submarine Definition Database (SDD),
- Provide onsite CM support to the EDWP Team, audit EC installations for compliance with the planned configuration change and supporting documentation,
- Providing onsite expertise to FTA East,
- Job Folder review and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) validation,
- Identifying, reviewing and extraction of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) deliverables from completed work folders,
- Maintain/Update QA Live File Databases for 1st level documents for installed components,
- Manage/Update QALF database for items removed/replaced from the submarines that are going for R&O or Disposal activities,
- Verifying that FLVL policies and processes support the maintenance and improvement of both the Quality Assurance (QA) and electronic QA (eQA) Live Files, ensuring accuracy of all data,
- Review, organize, scan, and file incoming receipted documentation,
- Provide specialist assistance and guidance to relevant stakeholders to resolve First Level (FLVL) queries / concerns,
- Assist with other tasks as may be determined by the Configuration Department, or Live File Manager,
- Train others in Folder Review, Live File related processes.
The ideal candidate brings:
- Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Clearance. Specifically North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) SECRET and subsequently a Controlled Goods clearance.
- Registered to practice as a Certified Mechanical Technologist.
- Minimum four (4) years' experience performing work similar to that described in the Project Work Statement (PWS); and demonstrated knowledge of marine systems.
- Previous military experience is an asset,
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to review and interpret technical and systems drawings and provide advice as required.
