Lead complex delivery. Drive operational excellence. Make an impact that matters.

At Babcock, we deliver critical capability that supports those who serve and protect our nation. We are seeking an experienced Program Delivery Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end execution of a complex defence program, leading the delivery of parts, assemblies, overhaul activities and in-service support operations across South Australia and Western Australia.

This is a unique opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, optimise delivery performance across multiple value streams, and play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers receive safe, reliable and high-quality outcomes. If you're a proven operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex delivery challenges, and is passionate about building high-performing teams, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

As Program Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the successful execution of all program delivery activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, predictably and in line with customer commitments. Working closely with Program Controls & Integration, Engineering, Procurement and Supply Chain teams, you will translate program priorities into executable delivery outcomes while maintaining control of workflow, resources, delivery readiness and operational performance.

You will lead delivery activities across production, assembly overhaul and in-service support operations, balancing competing priorities and ensuring alignment between customer demand, engineering readiness, workforce capability, material availability and operational capacity.

A key focus of the role is driving delivery performance across multiple value streams, managing work-in-progress, improving throughput, resolving constraints and ensuring delivery objectives relating to safety, quality, schedule and cost are consistently achieved. You will oversee geographically dispersed teams across South Australia and Western Australia, coordinate subcontractor performance, and provide operational leadership that enables sustainable delivery outcomes.

As a senior leader within the program, you will act as a key customer interface for delivery execution, lead operational and performance discussions, manage delivery risks and recovery actions, and provide accurate reporting on execution status and operational performance. You will also champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, resource utilisation and overall program effectiveness.

Most importantly, you will foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement while developing team capability and supporting the growth of future leaders across the business.

About you

You are an accomplished operations or delivery leader with extensive experience managing complex production, maintenance, sustainment or service delivery environments. You bring a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary technical and trade-based teams, balancing competing operational priorities and delivering results in highly regulated industries.

You are confident working across integrated project environments and have successfully partnered with planning, engineering, supply chain and customer stakeholders to achieve delivery objectives. Your ability to assess risks, manage constraints, drive operational performance and influence outcomes enables you to navigate complexity while maintaining focus on customer commitments and business objectives.

You are a collaborative and authentic leader who creates a positive and inclusive team culture, builds strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and empowers people to perform at their best. You have a passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence and developing the capability of those around you.

To be successful, you will bring:

7-10+ years' experience in production, maintenance, sustainment or delivery leadership roles within complex operational environments.

Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across workshop, manufacturing, maintenance and/or field-based operations.

Experience managing delivery across multiple workstreams, balancing competing priorities and optimising resources to achieve delivery outcomes.

Strong understanding of operational planning, production control, workflow management and delivery performance improvement.

Experience working within defence, sustainment, heavy industry or similarly complex technical environments.

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels, including customers and senior leaders.

A strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance.

The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (Baseline).
