Electrical Production Team Lead (Coordinator)

About the role
Based at our manufacturing facility at Whetstone, we are looking for a proactive, dedicated and enthusiastic Team Lead to join our growing team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for Leading, coordinating and supervising a team consisting of technicians and operatives such that all activities are completed to time and quality of output consistent with operational standards and requirements. You will be responsible for safely delivering the management and control of production activities while coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure delivery of orders are to schedule and cost.

Although this role sits within the nuclear industry, we welcome application from Process Engineers of all backgrounds.


Key Responsibilities
Role requirement is to lead a team and ensure laid down priorities and tasks are achieved to meet standards, and schedules. The role is accountable for leading and motivating the team, setting out and utilising labour to best effect, for quality of work and team skill capability development such that production schedules are can be achieved effectively. The role will be focused on meeting weekly and monthly production targets.
• Ensure all works are carried out in full compliance with the company’s business management system, notably all health, safety and quality requirements
• Act as line manager for all direct reports ensuring all individuals are trained, developed and set to work in full compliance with the standards and expectations of Cavendish Nuclear
• Liaise with other functions both at Whetstone and the wider Cavendish community to develop manufacturing and assembly strategies for future work. Take an active part in developing manufacturability and constructability reviews
• Provide input to quotations and estimates to complete for future and ongoing works in the Facility
• Develop short, medium and long term resourcing strategies for EC&I function at whetstone to meet future demands
• Ensure all personnel under their direct control have received the appropriate setting to work briefing to carry out activities to the right health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Ensure that suitable Risk Assessments (including the Point of Work Risk Assessment) have been carried out, prior to commencement of work, in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate, site specific Health, Safety and Environmental and Welfare Plan
• Undertake weekly toolbox talks, ensuring all Cavendish Nuclear, Agency and contracting personnel are aware, understand and sign onto relevant method statement, risk assessments and any issues arising etc.
• Ensure that only Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) are deployed on EC&I activities. In addition, ensuring all future training needs are raised with the Facility management
• Take a leading role in the management of any health, safety, welfare, security, environmental issues that may arise and participate fully in appropriate walk downs and site specific improvements
• Ensure the company reporting procedures are adhered too and all actions are closed out in a timely manner
• Develop, maintain and promote a culture of continuous improvement to drive efficiencies into all aspects of EC&I production
• Ensure all staff appraisals are carried out in a timely manner and participate in the recruitment of staff
• Ensure all assets and the Facility are secure and accounted for at the end of each shift
• Liaise with other internal functions, notably, goods receiving, inventory control and stock management to ensure the efficient flow of work all production activities
• Provide supervision, mentoring and coaching to all personnel under their control but with specific reference to apprentices, new starters and training personnel
• Develop a culture of openness, transparency and inclusion for all personnel in the Facility where everyone feels valued and has a part to play in the success of the business

• Leading Others: Owns the performance and development of their team members, including effective and ongoing communication and feedback
• Leading Resources: Responsible for effective planning and organisation of resources to deliver on customer promises
• Installation work.
What do I need to do the role?
• Relevant qualification, ideally in an Electrical related subject.
• Experience in a supervising or leading responsible role
• Extensive experience in manufacturing and/or EC&I assembly in regulated industry
• Must be a good communicator, computer literate, understanding of planning principles and motivator
