The role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work with key internal stakeholders, client and suppliers/subcontractors to drive both strategic value and operational excellence through all levels of the business. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll:

 

  • Support Quantity Surveyors (Q.S.): Provide commercial expertise for projects, including bid governance, reviews, change management, compensation event contractual notices, etc.)
  • Ensure Contract Compliance: Understand and enforce head contract terms throughout the supply chain.
  • Manage Procurement: Develop project procurement plans to meet budget, deadline, and risk mitigation goals.
  • Optimise Costs: Minimise disallowed costs and improve sourcing/tendering processes that meet and exceed project /programme deliverables
  • Manage Subcontractor Contracts: Oversee commercial aspects of subcontractor agreements during project execution and mitigating the business exposure to subcontractor claims 
  • Support Claims Management: Justify and document subcontractor claims to support poterntial head contract variations and audits contract CE’s / variations and sustain audit both externally and internally.

 

This role is full time , 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Proven experience in Quantity Surveying with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Skilled in managing stakeholders and ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Experienced in handling commercial administration for engineering and construction projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expertise in NEC3 contracts and delivering complex bids and projects.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects and change initiatives.

 

Qualifications for the Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Building Services Quantity Surveying or have a general degree in Quantity Surveying 

 

Security Clearance
