The role
As a Senior Architectural Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will form a leading role within a dynamic design team undertaking traditional, bespoke and innovative designs supporting the full suite of architectural deliverables for nuclear decommissioning and nuclear new build projects, as well as support to operating nuclear sites.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Deliver Nuclear design work, inspections and construction site support on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas. Work encompasses the full lifecycle of a project.
  • Support the preparation of designs for buildings of varying complexity, including production of relevant models and drawings using Autodesk products, particularly Revit and AutoCAD, throughout the various stages of the design process.
  • Work with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high profile projects. Confident with working in a collaborative environment and utilising federated models to ensure a coordinated and integrated architectural design.
  • Assisting and mentoring team members to promote their technical and professional development.
  • Provide support in the solution of problems that may arise during the design, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning and decommissioning phases.
  • As specified by the Technical Lead on projects, provide progress updates and accurately report the estimate to complete assigned tasks.
  • Be responsible for ensuring, as far as possible, the correctness of their own work and for checking other relevant output.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2  days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Architectural Technician:

  • Significant and proven experience in the design and detailing of buildings and associated architectural elements. 
  • It would be advantageous, but not necessary, to have previous experience within the nuclear industry.
  • Experience and understanding of multi-discipline design within a BIM environment.
  • Conversant with Autodesk products with a minimum of 2 years project experience on Revit and Navisworks. 

 

Qualifications for the Senior Architectural Technician:

  • HNC/HND qualified in Architectural Technology or a related subject. 
  • Experience in the Architectural delivery of complex and highly serviced buildings. 
  • Preference to be working towards or achieved CIAT membership or chartership

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
