The role

As a Project Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a pivotal role in advancing the UK’s next-generation nuclear capabilities. You'll be at the forefront of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR) innovation—helping shape the future of sustainable energy. Day-to-day, you’ll support in identifying and developing new growth opportunities within the Clean Energy sector, with a focus on SMR and AMR technologies. You’ll build and nurture strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, subcontractors, and stakeholders. From shaping early-stage opportunities to setting up and delivering high-impact projects, you’ll be instrumental in driving the future of low-carbon energy in the UK.

 

  • Take full accountability for programme planning and financial performance (P&L), working closely with the Business Unit Lead Team to align strategic objectives. 
  • Provide clear, concise Monthly Review Reports highlighting progress, deviations, and the corrective actions implemented to keep the programme on track.
  • Lead the setup and execution of complex projects for Clean Energy clients, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer expectations.
  • Champion excellence in Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) across all project phases.
  • Manage the customer interface and oversee all aspects of project delivery, including risk identification and mitigation, issue resolution, and proactive opportunity management.
  • Leading the project to deliver world class performance by means of employee engagement, continuous improvement and identifying and implementing the latest technology.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements. You can be based at any of our Cavendish Nuclear offices (Warrington, Bristol or Leicester). 

 

Essential experience of the Project Manager 

Nuclear experience is not an essential requirement, we welcome applications from other highly regulated industries.

 

  • Stakeholder Engagement – Proven ability to engage with customers and stakeholders to understand needs and shape successful proposals.
  • Team Leadership – Skilled in monitoring team performance and addressing issues to maintain high standards.
  • Integrated Planning – Experienced in consolidating project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, and HSE requirements into a cohesive plan.
  • Contract Management – Strong understanding of contracts and statements of work, and their impact on both clients and suppliers.
  • Requirements Management – Knowledge of well-defined requirements and their link to outputs, acceptance criteria, and benefits.

 

Qualifications for the Project Manager

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering / project / construction management or a related field (or equivalent).

 

Security Clearance
