The role
As an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering safe, efficient and compliant engineering solutions across the nuclear project lifecycle. From concept design to commissioning and decommissioning, your work will directly contribute to national safety, regulatory excellence and technical innovation.
Day-to-day, you’ll be
- Designing and developing electrical, control and instrumentation systems for nuclear projects
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and technical standards throughout all project phases
- Collaborating across engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
- Supporting testing and commissioning to ensure safe and reliable operations
- Engaging with clients, regulators and suppliers to align technical delivery with project requirements
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 37 hours per week, based at one of our key Cavendish Nuclear locations. You’ll benefit from hybrid working arrangements, with three days a week on site at either Moor Row (Cumbria), Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicestershire) or Bristol.
Essential experience of the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer:
- Proven experience in designing and delivering electrical, control and instrumentation systems in regulated industries
- Knowledge of nuclear safety standards and compliance processes
- Familiarity with engineering tools such as PLCs, SCADA and instrumentation software
- Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Experience in project environments, including commissioning, testing and technical documentation
Qualifications for the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer:
- You’ll ideally hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Instrumentation or a related discipline. Chartered status or working towards it would be advantageous.
