The role
The difference our new Assistant Project Manager will make

As one of our Assistant Project Managers, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll deliver key project management functions in support of the overall project delivery, including schedule, financial and risk functions. You’ll support the development of accurate and up-to-date financial and schedule estimates to ensure the project is accurately planned and reported. Be asked to manage the planning, monitor and control of work packages being delivered by other internal and external resources and apply the Business Management System (BMS) appropriately for the project and produce and communicate project-reporting data on Project Controls and Finance systems. Lastly, you’ll undertake aspects of stakeholder management and communications activities are required and support development of stakeholder management plans.

 

Our highly skilled team tackles major defence, decommissioning, new build and nuclear generation projects and has won over 78% of its latest tenders. Together, we’re innovating to make nuclear safer, faster and cost-effective across the nuclear energy life cycle. We’re also bringing the UK closer to Net Zero, through our work with Hinkley C, Sizewell C and X Energy. As Cavendish Nuclear continues to expand, so do the possibilities.

Essential experience
•    Relevant experience in a similar environment/sector
•    Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out – desirable 
•    Awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC/NEC3/JCT etc…)
•    Application of core project management techniques
•    Awareness of Engineering principles and common project challenges
