This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s 2,500 rooms.
 
The role 

As a Work Pack Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll liaise with client/Leads to ensure the design requirements are prepared and understood pre commencement of design. 
 
Day to day, you’ll consult/assign the appropriate Design Category with Temporary Works based on the risks presented by the design, ensuring that any residual risks are included in the design brief.

 

  • Compliance accordingly to Legacy Docs
  • Growth of TWs discipline including Voids & Openings designs 
  • Ever increasing number of Scaffolding designs required to meet Mechanical Operation
  • Assist execution team pre and during erection of bespoke design structures.
  • Ensure that a design check is carried out by the appropriate parties (for CAT 2 and CAT 3, these must be external to the Temporary Works Designer(s))  
  • Ensure that the design is made available to relevant external parties (e.g. Principal Contractor) where appropriate to do so   
  • Register or record the drawings, calculations and other relevant documents pertaining to the TW design

 
This is a full-time role with 37 hours per week based on site at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset. Accommodation and travel expenses paid for those outside of the region.
 
Essential experience of the Work Pack Engineer

  • Experience of working on major construction projects 
  • Nuclear site experience is not a requirement
  • Proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector
  • Previous experience within a role relating to Work Packs

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
