This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms. 

 

The role

 

As a Welding Technical Coordinator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.  

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for operating the site Welding Quality Management Systems, inputting welding data, generating and issue Weld Process Control Cards for site welding activities and contribute to the completion of site welding quality records. 

 

  • Operate and administer the WeldEye Welding Management System for the Project/ Contract site operations
  • Transfer all required data into WeldEye
  • Generate site specific weld process control cards in line with afore mentioned weld procedures
  • Create a TQS and Weld IDs 
  • Create Work Orders (generate WPCC/PWHT & NDE Requests)
  • Feedback and maintain welding activities, results, and records 
  • Maintain welding records, including document registers and dashboards 
  • Maintain work files containing the necessary documentation
  • Interact with all other departments associated with welding operations

 

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.

 

Essential experience of the Welding Technical Coordinator

 

  • Proven track record in large scale Installation of complex, multi-discipline projects, in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects
  • Experience of welding related activities, inspections (visual and NDT) and quality control
  • A positive ‘can do’ mentality
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, liaising effectively with peers, team members and other functions
  • Able to demonstrate accountability for their own actions and take responsibility

 

Qualifications for the Welding Technical Coordinator 

 

  • NVQ 2 or Equivalent
  • CITB HS&E Test

Security Clearance
