This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms. 

The role
As a Senior Project Engineer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You’ll work with Pre-Operations and Commissioning teams to develop clear requirements specifications to be delivered within the contract or package of work. 

Day-to-day, you’ll support the Project Manager with day-to-day activities required to deliver work in line with the project plan including safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

• Develop and execute effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed. 
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams, consisting of commercial, quality, equipment suppliers, installation contractors etc to deliver projects on site.
• Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work
• Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
• Monitor and manage the progress of the programme – track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
• Identifying, implementing and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
• Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues to the Project Manager

This role is full time, 38 hours per week, and is based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater.

Essential experience of the Senior Project Engineer

• Experienced in project delivery and knowledge of Project Management principles (APM).
• Able to demonstrate previous experience leading a project team and delivering a project from concept to operation.
• Familiar with a strong health and safety culture and ability to set and uphold high standards of safety.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Previous experience working in a construction or nuclear environment would be advantageous.
