This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.

 

The role

As a HSE Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental and your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding both the workforce and the environment, ensuring that best practices are not only met but exceeded.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll ensure Health and Safety Standards are consistently met across the HPC project.

  • Champion the HPC Way and its core pillars, promoting a culture of safety.

  • Play a key role in the integrated Health & Safety team, providing expert advice.

  • Monitor and inspect working practices, including conducting site inspections and reporting trends.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor.

  • Provide specialist advice on HSE topics, ensure compliance with MEH policies, and manage incident response.

 

This role is full time 37 hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.

 

Essential experience of the HSE Advisor

  • A strong construction background with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, to effectively explain HSE procedures and expectations to diverse audiences.

  • Experience in the nuclear industry is desirable.

 

Qualifications for the HSE Advisor

  • NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent.

  • Membership in IOSH or a similar professional body is desirable.

 

Security Clearance
