The role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities through the application of process, domain knowledge, and experience. Our highly skilled team tackles major defence, decommissioning, new build, and nuclear generation projects, winning over 78% of our latest tenders while driving the UK closer to Net Zero through our work with Hinkley C, Sizewell C, and X Energy.
As part of this role, you will contribute to the Submarine Dismantling Project (SDP). It will be a collaborative venture between public sector bodies and private organisations to achieve a world-first in dismantling past classes of nuclear submarine.
Day-to-day, you’ll assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers.

Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.

Contribute to Project Safety Assessment process.

Ensure task and project risks are communicated and managed appropriately.

Produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports as assigned.
This role is full time 37 hours per week based onsite at Rosyth on a hybrid working basis. However location is adaptable and can be delivered from various locations.
Essential experience of the Senior Mechanical Engineer

Nuclear experience is not a requirement, we welcome applications from all engineering backgrounds.

Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types.

Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities.

Good communication skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.
Qualifications for the Senior Mechanical Engineer

Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience in relevant engineering discipline, with significant demonstrable experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
