The role
As a Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work with key stakeholders, account teams and suppliers to drive operational execution of projects/programmes, bids and other critical business activities. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll work as part of a wider procurement team in a project environment, doing end to end procurement processes.

  • Close involvement with suppliers & stakeholders to identify and implement the most cost effective and technically efficient supply solutions in respect of cost, performance, product and/or service quality and programme
  • Managing sourcing and tendering processes in accordance with agreed project and/or programme deliverables
  • Early engagement with stakeholders to review and challenge specifications and develop robust/innovative procurement strategies which outline marketplace, cost levers, value levers
  • Ensuring that all technical and quality requirements are fully satisfied and that all material and service requirements are supplied in accordance with Project programmes
  • Support the development and execution of a Segmented Supplier Relationship Management strategy that; improves supplier performance, develops critical/strategic relationships, attracts innovation, reduces risk and contributes to the growth of the value delivery plan


This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home, is based at Leicester, Leicestershire and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.


Essential experience of the Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist:

  • Prior experience managing stakeholders, ideally in a buying or procurement environment 
  • Self-motivated, views learning positively and is keen to develop
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages (namely Excel and Outlook) and ideally has prior experience utilising SAP
