Cavendish Nuclear is expanding in the Humber region and now recruiting within our new office in Grimsby, as well as our current office in Hessle. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team supporting some of the UK's most significant programmes across clean energy, nuclear decommissioning and defence.
The role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on some of the UK's most complex and nationally significant engineering programmes across clean energy, nuclear decommissioning and defence. You'll develop innovative engineering solutions that support safe, compliant and efficient project delivery while making a direct contribution to nationally important programmes.
Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll play a key role in solving technical challenges, supporting project success and helping to develop future engineering capability. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, exposure to diverse projects and the chance to make a real impact within a growing business.
Day-to-day, you will be:
- Delivering mechanical engineering solutions for complex engineering programmes.
- Producing and maintaining technical calculations, drawings and engineering documentation.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, customers and suppliers to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting technical problem-solving activities and mentoring less experienced engineers where appropriate.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering 37 hours per week. You'll benefit from a hybrid working model, spending three days per week onsite at either our Hessle or Grimsby office while maintaining flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer:
- Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions on complex projects.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Experience working within highly regulated or high-hazard industries.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and mentoring skills.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer:
HND or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Security Clearance
