The role

As a Senior Risk Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering risk and opportunity management across projects of national importance.

This role is full time, based in Glasgow. Hybrid working patterns are available with a minimum of two days per week onsite. The role is contracted to 37 hours per week.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

• Leading risk and opportunity management activities across all stages of the project lifecycle, from bid phase through to project close-out
• Developing and implementing project risk and opportunity management plans that align with business, commercial, and regulatory requirements
• Facilitating risk identification workshops, assessments, and treatment planning to minimise threats and maximise opportunities
• Producing insightful risk analysis and performance reporting, including recommendations for project and business leaders
• Managing contingency planning and ensuring risk management activities support financial, commercial and delivery objectives
• Chair risk management reviews with senior internal & external stakeholders
• Production of risk management dashboards

 Essential experience of the Senior Risk Specialist:

• Exposure to infrastructure projects in areas including nuclear, defence, energy, engineering or construction
• Demonstrable experience in a specialist risk and opportunity management role
• Experience supporting projects throughout the full project lifecycle; from bid development to completion
• Experienced in the use of software including Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) / Pertmaster, Active Risk Manager (ARM) and Excel based platforms
• Awareness of contract forms and commercial frameworks including NEC3 or NEC4
• Experience working within an engineering, design, project controls, or project delivery environment

Qualifications for the Senior Risk Specialist:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Risk Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management is desirable
• Membership of a recognised professional body is also an advantage (i.e. IRM or APM)

Security Clearance
