The role

The difference our new Site Quality Inspector will make


As a Site Quality Inspector, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. 
Hinkley Point C (HPC), is the first of a new generation of nuclear power stations designed to support the UK’s ambition to reach net-zero by 2050. In addition to being one of Britain’s most powerful actions to fight climate change, it’s the biggest construction project in Europe.
Cavendish Nuclear are a member of the MEH Alliance working across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s 2,500 rooms.


Day to day, you’ll be performing witnessing as required by the Inspection and Test Plans to meet MEH programme demand, working to project deadlines and targets. Recording results for inspections undertaken, highlighting any non-conformance and accepting or rejecting finished items as required. Liaising with the Area Quality Leads to ensure appropriate levels of surveillance are deployed and support the relevant surveillance plans, and to work alongside the fabrication / installation team to ensure all contracted requirements have been met.

Essential experience

•    Qualifications in an Engineering discipline, ONC / HNC / HND (or equivalent experience).  
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quality Inspector in relevant discipline and site installation environment. 
•    Knowledge of working to UK and international standards and codes of practice
•    NACE L2
•    CSWIP WI 3.1 or PCN WI Level 2, dual qualification with either coatings or NDE PCN desirable 
•    Experience with coatings
