The role

As a Human Factors Consultant, you help shape the safety and effectiveness of some of the UK’s most critical nuclear infrastructure. You contribute to high-impact projects, ensuring human factors are embedded into design and safety processes.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll

  • Prepare and deliver human factors assessments to support nuclear safety cases and project design.
  • Support the integration of human factors into design projects, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.
  • Manage delivery of your work scope to meet cost, schedule and stakeholder expectations.
  • Participate in hazard identification studies and contribute to safety justifications.
  • Coordinate the production of human factors deliverables across project teams.

 

This is a permanent role, working 37 hours per week. You will be based at one of our key UK locations: Bristol, Warrington (Cheshire), Reading (Berkshire) or Leicester (Leicestershire), with hybrid working patterns available (two days on site).

 

Essential experience of the Human Factors Consultant:

  • Applying human factors principles in high-hazard industries.
  • Undertaking assessments in support of hazard analysis and safety justification.
  • Working towards or near completion of Registered Member or Chartered Status with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF).
  • Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Delivering high-quality technical outputs in a regulated environment.

 

Qualifications for the Human Factors Consultant:

  • Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (minimum) in Ergonomics, Human Factors or a related discipline such as Applied Psychology.
  • Membership of the CIEHF (Graduate, Associate, or Technical).
  • A higher-level qualification or Chartered Status would be advantageous.

 

Security Clearance
