Workshop Team Lead - Hunter

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Team Lead to lead the build activities for the Hunter Class Program at Babcock. As the Workshop Team Lead, you will coordinate and mentor a team of trades personnel, ensuring systems and equipment are assembled safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Project teams, you will play a critical role in delivering a world-class naval capability for Australia.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Experience supporting quality inspections, hold points, and manufacturing documentation processes.
  • Sound understanding of workplace health, safety, and risk management practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience working on complex integration, assembly, or production programs.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated industry environment.
  • Experience within shipbuilding, defence, maritime, heavy engineering, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Trade or relevant Tertiary qualification or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Rigging and Dogging licence is desirable, but not essential
