About the role
As a Senior Infrastructure Solution Architect, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of a robust, resilient and secure server architecture supporting the integration and implementation of the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communication System.
Working across multiple technical domains, you will lead investigations, analysis and architectural decisions across the system lifecycle, translating operational and customer requirements into practical infrastructure solutions across geographically diverse and security-sensitive environments.
You will work closely with Systems Engineering, Cyber Security, vendors and customers to support security accreditation, verification, technical risk management and the development of high-quality technical documentation.
From rack design, cabling and environmental considerations through to BOM development, system budgeting and vendor engagement, you will help deliver infrastructure solutions that are resilient, supportable and aligned with contractual and engineering requirements.
About you
You will be an experienced infrastructure or solution architect with strong hands-on experience across Windows, Linux and virtualised enterprise environments.
Your technical knowledge will be complemented by the ability to investigate complex engineering problems, assess technical risks and make sound, evidence-based decisions across multiple domains.
Experience designing resilient server architectures, developing system provisioning solutions and supporting systems across multiple security domains will be highly regarded, particularly within complex or regulated environments.
You will be comfortable producing and reviewing technical documentation, presenting technical information and providing trusted engineering advice to stakeholders.
A commitment to engineering rigour, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and delivering innovative solutions will be key to your success, alongside an understanding of applicable engineering standards, safety requirements and the obligations associated with working in a Defence environment.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Extensive experience in relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
- Degree qualified ICT professional (or equivalent experience).
- Desirable experience in design, implementation, or support of terrestrial defence mission system computing systems.
- Virtualisation design principles.
- Understanding of Microsoft / Linux Server architecture design principles.
- Able to create complex BOM’s, Detailed Design Documentation, and engage vendors.
- A background in Defence / Defence Industry (desirable).
