About the Role

We are seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract supporting the Collins Class Submarine Program. Based at our Woodville North facility, this role will play a key part in ensuring materials, parts, and services are available to support a new operational project.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you'll be responsible for a blend of purchasing and inventory management activities, working closely with project, engineering, warehouse, quality, and production teams to support successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including raising purchase orders and engaging suppliers.
  • Monitor and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
  • Support supplier relationships and resolve delivery or invoicing issues.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records within ERP systems.
  • Coordinate goods receipt activities and support material movement through quality processes.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through stock counts and system updates.
  • Support material readiness and identify risks to project schedules.
  • Provide purchasing and inventory reporting to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance requirements.

 

To be successful, you will bring:

 

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain operations
  • Demonstrated capability in raising purchase orders, expediting suppliers, and resolving invoice/payment issues.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience collaborating across procurement, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing workflows.
  • Familiarity with inventory management processes, goods receipting, and ERP systems.
