Engineering Team Leader - Operations

About the Role

As an Engineering Team Leader at Babcock, you will lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes across the product lifecycle.

 

You will oversee the planning, delivery and monitoring of engineering activities, ensuring work is completed to schedule, cost and quality expectations while applying established engineering processes, tools and standards.

In this role, you will lead technical investigations, review engineering documentation and provide expert advice to support decision making across projects and programs.

 

You will also engage with internal and external stakeholders through technical discussions and reviews, while ensuring accurate documentation and knowledge capture across the engineering lifecycle.


About You

You are an experienced engineering professional with strong knowledge of engineering processes across design, analysis, manufacturing and in-service support.

 

You bring the ability to lead teams or technical work packages, apply sound engineering judgement and produce clear technical documentation within a structured engineering environment.

A collaborative communicator, you are comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.

 

You take initiative, prioritise effectively and are passionate about supporting the development of your team while driving continuous improvement across engineering practices.

 

To be successful in this position you will bring:

 

  • Extensive knowledge of the design, analysis, manufacturing, and support techniques throughout the engineering product lifecycle
  • A thorough level of knowledge in engineering reports / technical writing in an engineering environment
  • A good understanding of Product Safety and Quality Processes
  • Knowledge of the principles of Technical Risk Management
  • A good understanding of Configuration Management Processes
  • A good understanding of the engineering Change Management Process
  • A good understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software)
