About the role

The Assistant Project Manager sits within the Survey and Quote Project Management Team, supporting the Collins Sustainment Program delivered in partnership between Babcock and ASC.

The team works across the full project lifecycle, from quote development and bidding through to project delivery and close-out, managing technically complex engineering re-design projects with significant subcontractor involvement.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract, reporting to the Survey and Quote Project Manager, you will take responsibility for day-to-day project delivery while also acting as the procurement lead.

This includes developing supplier quote packs containing detailed engineering information, engaging directly with suppliers, consolidating responses, and supporting customer submissions.

You will manage core project elements such as safety, scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and resources, in alignment with Babcock’s Global Project Management Framework.


About you

You are an emerging project professional with a solid working knowledge of core project management competencies in low to moderately complex environments.

You are comfortable supporting and applying project controls under supervision, with exposure to contracts, commercial arrangements, and structured governance frameworks.

Highly organised and detail-focused, you are confident working with data and systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Jira, to compile, manage and report project information.

You bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with engineers, suppliers and customers in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

You understand the importance of rigorous change control, accurate forecasting, and proactive risk management, and you take health, safety and environmental responsibilities seriously.

You demonstrate alignment with Babcock’s principles, comply with relevant HSE, trade controls and business management requirements, and are committed to continuous improvement through lessons learned and best-practice project delivery.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

• Hold relevant Project Management qualification and
• AIPM Certified Practitioner working towards Certification in Project Management
• Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out.
• Application of core project management techniques
• Ideally recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector
• Ideally awareness of various contracting methodologies
