In this role, you will:

 

  • Be responsible to the Accountable Executive for the management of all aspects of aircraft maintenance carried out by Babcock Canada’s Aerial Emergency Services
  • Obtain Transport Canada acceptance as designated Personal Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) for the Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO)
  • Be responsible for all portions of CAR 571, 573, and 605 that are applicable to the AMO scope of work, ensuring efficient and effective Maintenance Planning, Quality Assurance, Safety Management, and Training programs are established and maintained, in accordance with the MPM and CPM
  • Lead and develop a team of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and support personnel through department managers to ensure successful delivery of Babcock’s commitments to its customers
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, aeronautical product manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance with current requirements.
  • Ensure an effective and efficient business model through financial management of departmental budgets
  • Contribute to the delivery of future contract mobilization plans
  • Develop succession plans to ensure business continuity within the AMO
  • Provide timely, accurate and comprehensive support to all levels of the operation and contract partners to ensure sound business decisions and risk mitigation
  • Build business-to-business relationships within the Canadian Aviation market
  • Oversee procurement strategies with approved vendors

 

The ideal candidate brings:

 

  • A minimum of 6 years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build long lasting and profitable relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven experience and expertise in assessing and articulating relevant business cases and risk assessments to support operational and business requirements
  • A proven track record as an exemplary leader
  • A Project Management certificate or a degree related to Aviation Engineering would be considered an asset
  • Eligibility for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
