The role

As a Proposal Writer, you’ll be at the heart of Babcock’s strategic growth—developing persuasive, customer-aligned proposals that help us secure new contracts and expand our presence in defence and infrastructure. This is a dynamic writing and coordination role where your work will directly influence how our strengths are communicated and how we meet the needs of our customers.

 

You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts and bid teams to shape high-impact content that reflects Babcock’s values and capabilities. It’s a chance to grow your career in a sector that’s vital, innovative and deeply rewarding.

 

Day-to-day you’ll be:
•    Collaborating with subject matter experts to extract and shape bid content
•    Drafting, editing and formatting proposal documents aligned with strategy and evaluation criteria
•    Developing storyboards, win themes and supporting materials such as case studies
•    Coordinating reviews and incorporating feedback to refine final submissions
•    Working with graphic designers to enhance proposals visually and structurally

 

The role is based at any of our main UK locations, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37.5 hours per week. Flexible working patterns are available.

 

Essential experience of the Proposal Writer:
•    Experience of effective proposal writing on large, complex and strategic bids 
•    Familiarity with Shipley proposal practices (or similar)

 

Qualifications for the Proposal Writer:

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
