The role

 

As a Head of Health and Wellbeing, you’ll elevate Health and Wellbeing into a strategic business driver across Babcock’s culture, leadership behaviours and governance to improve performance, reduce risk and strengthen long‑term sustainability. This is meaningful work and what you deliver helps our teams who support international defence, aerospace and engineering projects to stay healthy, engaged and performing at their best.

 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll embed evidence‑based practices, leverage data and insights to demonstrate impact and build a resilient, inclusive environment where our people can thrive.

 

 

  • Define and deliver a global Health and Wellbeing strategy, frameworks and programmes that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner with sectors and regional centres to embed Health and Wellbeing into local plans, leadership behaviours and operational decision‑making.
  • Scan and apply emerging research, trends and best practice to inform strategy, innovate solutions and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Influence and coach senior leaders to integrate Health and Wellbeing into performance, risk management and governance.
  • Establish and oversee global KPIs, dashboards and reporting while managing occupational health and specialist support services and building capability across the global Health and Wellbeing community.

 

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office, at Babcock sites within the UK and internationally,  and days working from home.

 

 

Essential experience of the Head of Health and Wellbeing

 

  • Proven experience leading Health and Wellbeing strategy at senior level within a large, complex, international organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cultural and behavioural change through leadership influence and strategic programmes.
  • Strong track record of using data, insights and evidence‑based approaches to shape interventions and measure business impact.
  • Experience engaging, advising and influencing executive‑level stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
  • Background in developing and overseeing large‑scale frameworks, governance and occupational health services

 

 

Qualifications for the Head of Health and Wellbeing
