The role
As a Global Product Safety Training and Promotion Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Global Head of Product Safety for leading the development, co-ordination, review and delivery of Product Safety training and for promoting Product Safety initiatives, themes and concerns across Babcock International Group.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be working closely with Sector / Direct Reporting Country (DRC) Product Safety Leads and Senior Leaders across all functions to collaborate in Product Safety training and messaging initiatives align with broader safety and quality messaging strategies, as well as Product Safety messaging is consistent and supports the overall Engineering & Technology Communications strategy.

  • Develop, implement, co-ordinate and deliver a Product Safety training programme to ensure an appropriate level of awareness at all levels of BIG
  • Develop, implement, co-ordinate and deliver a Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programme to ensure sufficient facilitators across BIG to support delivery of Product Safety workshops
  • Develop and implement mechanisms for tracking the effectiveness of Product Safety training, including training validation surveys, reporting on training attendance, engagement levels and post-feedback improvements
  • Develop and implement continual improvement processes, to periodically review training objectives against the Global Product Safety strategy, incorporating feedback, amending training content and updating case studies to ensure the training remains relevant and continues to add value
  • Develop, implement and deliver a comprehensive communications plan for communicating product safety information to the workforce, sub-contractors, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders in order to share knowledge, build trust and maintain BIG’s reputation for Product Safety

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with travel onsite once per month. 

 

Essential experience of the Global Product Safety Training and Promotion Manager:

  • A Product Safety or Safety Management subject matter expert with significant experience in the application of Safety Management
  • Leadership experience in change management, communications and training
  • Defence or Aviation background (highly regulated safety environment)
  • Enterprise Mindset – Drives for enterprise performance by working interdependently. Operates in a collegiate and upfront manner to support own and other teams’ success
  • Safety Management Knowledge – A champion for Product Safety, applying innovative thinking and trend analysis of global Product Safety and broader Safety Management Systems to enhance the safety of BIG products
  • Systemic thinking – Thinks conceptually and systemically in order to solve current and future issues and validate opportunities
  • Shapes Culture – Knows and demonstrates the importance of visible, felt leadership in shaping a culture of safety and ongoing improvement

 

Qualifications for the Global Product Safety Training and Promotion Manager:

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
