The role

As an Assistant Company Secretary, you’ll play a key role in upholding the highest standards of corporate governance across a global FTSE 100 organisation. This is an opportunity to advance your career at the heart of a business that powers national defence, aerospace innovation and critical engineering programmes. Your work will help maintain robust governance structures, support strategic corporate activity, and ensure we continue to operate responsibly and transparently.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain statutory and other records for all group entities, ensuring timely and accurate submission of statutory filings for UK companies.
  • Support the ongoing development of best practice corporate governance and keep up to date with changes in company law and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide company secretarial support on a wide range of corporate projects.
  • Carry out company secretarial duties for a joint venture, including meeting coordination, agenda distribution and minute taking.
  • Maintain the Group’s Restricted Dealing List and Insider Lists using Insider Hub.

You’ll join a small, agile and highly collaborative Secretariat team where you’ll report directly to the Head of Secretariat, who in turn reports to the Group General Counsel and Company Secretary. This exposure creates a rare opportunity to develop your expertise, broaden your influence and make a meaningful impact across the organisation.

You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Wigmore Street. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential experience of the Assistant Company Secretary:

  • Demonstrable company secretarial experience within a complex organisation.
  • Experience using Diligent Entities.
  • Highly organised, process‑driven and detail‑focused, especially in written work.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to build trust, exercise sound judgement and handle sensitive or confidential matters appropriately.

Qualifications for the Assistant Company Secretary:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute (or currently studying towards qualification).
