About the role

Here at Cavendish Nuclear we are looking to recruit a project quality technician.  This is a development role and for the successful candidate provides an excellent and exciting opportunity to commence a career in quality with a leading organisation in the Nuclear industry.


Working in accordance with a formal Personal Development Plan (PDP), a structure programme of development and learning activities will be provided whilst supporting the delivery of ‘day to day’ operational activities.


The role will provide a range of competencies across the quality discipline and give the successful candidate a sound foundation in quality which as part of their development will assist them in determining their future quality career pathway.


The successful candidate will join the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and progress through the membership grades as part of their ongoing development.


Responsibilities:
The role exists in order to provide ongoing support to the project quality team during the complete project delivery lifecycle.  Key responsibilities include:
•    ‘Day to day’ coordination activities associated with the project Quality team.
•    Liaison with relevant functions to coordinate and expedite quality documentation and lifetime records.
•    Tracking quality documentation through the project Quality team, other project functions and relevant external organisations.
•    Support the inspection processes e.g. the Notification of Inspections (NOI) process between suppliers, project team and the Customer.
•    Populate and manage various spreadsheets and data collation tools and support project Quality reporting activities.

 

What do I need to do the role?
Experience:
Have work experience preferably gained within an engineering / manufacturing role.


Knowledge:
A basic understanding / appreciation of engineering / manufacturing working practises.


Skills:
We are looking for someone persuasive and influential, a self-starter who is eager to learn and develop with a flexible approach, a good team worker and a questioning attitude. You should be customer focused; both internal and external with excellent communication skills; both written and verbal and you should be computer literate with experience in using software packages relevant to the role e.g. word, excel, outlook, internet, etc. You will require the ability to produce accurate and appropriate information (e.g. reports, data, etc.) in a timely manner. We are looking for someone who proactively contributes ideas for change and who actively promotes health and safety.


Education:
5 x GCSE’s including Maths, English and a Science and 2 x A Levels.


Other:
You must also be willing to travel in support of the role.
