The role
As a Senior Operational Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Operational Planners to ensure work is effectively planned for, and executed by, operations considering capacity, suitably qualified and experienced person (SQEP), material, facilities and tooling.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for planning of and achieving in-year requirements, tracking, and achieving contracted hours, and being the main point of contact for the customer at the respective locations. You’ll also:

 

  • Provide recommendations on improving the current processes related to demand/supply planning
  • To lead all development and training requirements within the team
  • Support the collation regular updates on performance to inform the demand and supply teams.
  • Support the development of scenario planning as required to assist with overall business plans and inventory management.
  • Responsible for ensuring the standardised use of ERP System and ensure correct use by team; providing additional training where required

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home. Quarterly travel to Lulworth and Woolwich is required as part of the role.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Operational Planner:

  • Strong data analytical skills
  • General business management skills with a proven track record of innovation and change, delivering measured benefit.
  • Experience in planning capacity, SQEP, material, facilities and tooling
  • Knowledge of the supply chain i.e. consumables and repairable

 

Qualifications for the Senior Operational Planner:
MCIPS or Project Management Qualification, i.e. APMP and/or PRINCE 2 Practitioner

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
