The role
As a Workshop Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You are a first line leader inspiring your team to be high performing with the main focus being Health and Safety. You will drive productivity, efficiency, ensuring your team are fully utilised to output requirements to our customer.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure the delivery teams have the people, tools, and processes they need to safely deliver outputs against the plan(s). Along with ensuring systems are updated providing accurate information for decision making and giving visibility for the wider business to support.
- Leading recruitment activities for roles in team (e.g., conducting interviews, ordering equipment/assets, completing new starter / induction processes).
- Leading exit activities for team members (conducting exit interviews, equipment/asset collection/return, completing leaver processes).
- Conduct line manager activities in grievance and disciplinary procedures in line with policy (conducting investigations, lead hearings, first level outcome/decision maker).
- Managing employee welfare (providing information and support, hearing, and addressing concerns and escalating where appropriate).
- Managing performance of team members in line with policies (conducting informal reviews, objective setting, recognition of good performance, leading poor performance procedures).
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington. Typically you will work Monday to Friday with a half day on Friday.
Essential experience of the Workshop Supervisor:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role
- Competent IT literacy and experience of key MS applications including Windows, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
Qualifications for the Workshop Supervisor:
- Educated to Level 2 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (Intermediate apprenticeship, Level 2 NVQ, GCSE – Grade A* - C, O Level A – C, CSE Grade1) or equivalent workplace experience.
- Completed relevant technical or vocational qualification equivalent to NQF Level 3 (Advanced apprenticeship, level 3 NVQ)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
