The role
As a Vehicle Electrician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll work with a range of military and heavy armoured vehicles using your knowledge and experience to carry out a range of tasks to meet the clients needs.

 

Day to day, you’ll conduct in depth diagnostics, inspections, and repair for overhaul of vehicle assemblies, electrical and general equipment including diagnostic and inspection duties. Manufacture of miscellaneous items. Carrying out examination tasks to meet production needs subject to necessary training and proficiency.

 

  • Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and other approved technical publications
  • Diagnose, inspect and assess vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical equipment in line with skills & competency
  • Ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current processes and that work completed and time taken to complete the job is submitted daily to the department / section Supervisor
  • Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates / reports to current standards
  • Maintain the requirements of COSHH, Health & Safety and other statutory regulations. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping, cleanliness and safety in the work area is maintained at all times

 

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours, 4 days per week and is based on site at Bovington. Overtime is available.

 

Essential experience of the Vehicle Electrician:

  • Able to take responsibility for unresolved issues or escalations
  • Able to develop effective relationships internally at a variety of levels
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work on own initiative to assist delivery of site objectives & targets in line with internal policy/process & ISO 9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001

 

Qualifications for the Vehicle Electrician:

  • Educated to Level 3 in Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) / National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) as a minimum (Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3 VRQ/NVQ)
  • Holds valid and appropriate UK driving licence

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
