The role
As an Armourer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play an important part of our team stripping, overhauling and assembling specialist equipment.

Day to day, you’ll be working within the Armoury providing support and general maintenance of equipment.  

• Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions and processess
• Diagnose, inspect and assess weapon systems, vehicles and associated mechanical, electrical and armour equipment 
• Ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current processes
• Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation, test certificates and reports to current standards
• Ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose and un-used or new faulty material is returned to the section or department supervisor
   

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time,37 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington.

Essential experience of the Armourer

• Competent PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint)
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work on own initiative to assist delivery of site objectives

Qualifications for the Armourer:

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or an apprenticeship qualification 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
