The role
As an Armourer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play an important part of our team stripping, overhauling and assembling specialist equipment.

 

Day to day, you’ll be working within the Armoury providing support and general maintenance of equipment.  

 

  • Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and other approved technical publications.
  • Diagnose, inspect and assess weapon systems, vehicles and associated mechanical, electrical and armour equipment 
  • Ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current processes and that work completed and time taken to complete the job is submitted daily to the department / section supervisor.
  • Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation, test certificates and reports to current standards.
  • Ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose and un-used or new faulty material is returned to the section or department supervisor as soon as it is identified.

 

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

 

This role is full time,37 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington.

 

Qualifications for the Armourer:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or an apprenticeship qualification  

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
