The role

As an Armourer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. you’ll play a critical role in supporting defence capability by ensuring weapons and mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standard. This is a hands-on engineering role where your expertise directly contributes to operational readiness and safety. You’ll work on a variety of equipment, from small arms to armoured turret systems, developing your technical skills in a highly specialised environment while building a rewarding career in defence engineering.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

• Inspect, service and overhaul small arms and weapon systems to maintain operational performance
• Carry out repairs and fault diagnosis on armoured turret systems and mechanical equipment
• Manufacture and assemble components to support production and maintenance activities
• Conduct examinations and quality checks in line with engineering standards and procedures
• Support continuous improvement by following best practice and maintaining a safe working environment

This is a full-time role based onsite at Lulworth. You will be working 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.

Essential experience of the Armourer:

• Demonstrating experience completing weapon equipment courses or strong, hands-on familiarity with military or defence-related equipment

Qualifications for the Armourer:

• Level 3 qualification (RQF/NVQ) in an Advanced Manufacturing or Engineering discipline (such as an advanced apprenticeship or equivalent)
• A full, valid UK driving licence

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
