The role
As a Warehouse and Logistics Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll provide first line management capability for the supply-chain warehouse operation.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll ensure the team has the operating processes, tools and direction to safely deliver outputs within the warehousing function.

 

  • Provide support to manage employee lifecycle (recruitment through to exit processes) and supporting warehouse manager through disciplinary, grievance, welfare support procedure
  • Managing functional resource levels
  • Delivering business and functional communications including team briefings, tool-box talks and business communication
  • Managing staff, their skills and competencies to ensure capability and performance across operation processes
  • Support warehouse manager to provide warehouse visual plans, charts and measures to inform the team on performance and service level agreement and key performance indicator achievement.

 

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Walsall.


Essential experience of the Warehouse and Logistics Lead:

  • Competent PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, MRP system NAVISION/SAP)
  • Ability to manage people, individuals and small teams
  • Ability to be dynamic and multi-task
  • Ability to communicate effective which includes potential to challenge and have harder conversations
  • Ability to analyse information and make rational decisions to complete tasks effectively

 

Qualifications for the Warehouse and Logistics Lead:

  • Educated to Level 2 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (Intermediate apprenticeship, Level 2 NVQ, GCSE – Grade A* - C, O Level A – C, CSE Grade1) or equivalent workplace experience
  • Completed (or working towards) British Safety Council Level 2 or equivalent training.
     

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain  Standard (BPSS), Security Check (SC) and NPPV security clearance for this role.
