The Role
As a Lead Design Engineer – Electrical Systems, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be at the forefront of developing, designing and implementing innovative new vehicle designs. 

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the full design process from concept development through to production ready designs. 

• Collaborate with teams to develop vehicle design concepts 
• Utilise CAD software to create electrical schematics, 2D and 3D models of components and systems 
• Developing virtual and physical prototypes to test and refine ideas and concepts 
• Report on quality activities and performance on a regular basis 
• Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements 

Experience Required of the Lead Design Engineer – Electrical Systems

• Knowledge and understanding of electrical systems and EMC design practices 
• Profficiency in CAD software i.e. AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc
• Strong understanding of vehicle engineering principles 
• Knowledge of industry specific standards and regulations 
• Ideally understanding of defence standards 61-5 and 59-411

Qualifications for the Lead Design Engineer – Electrical Systems

• Degree level qualified in relevant engineering subject
