The role
As Head of Production and Site Operations, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role is pivotal in scaling manufacturing output, enhancing efficiency, and fostering a culture of modernisation within the business, specially focused on the production of vehicles for the military and government.
Day-to-day, you’ll oversee day to day manufacturing operations, implementing best practices, and optimising processes for increased efficiency and quality for vehicle production, you’ll also lead and develop teams to enable progressive change for flexible production systems for the ever-changing demand.
- Collaborate with the Production Director to develop and execute strategic plans for the production facility in alignment with the company’s growth objectives. Work with the leadership team to plan and implement strategic investment in technology, equipment, and workforce training.
- Lead initiatives to enable military and government vehicle manufacturing output and efficiency to meet increased demand.
- Drive a positive cultural shift by modernising ways of working, fostering innovation and promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet the unique demands of military and government specifications.
- Build and lead a high performing production team, focusing on talent development, skills enhancement and creating a culture of excellence. Optimise resource allocation, monitor costs, and drive cost effective production processes while maintaining high quality standards.
This role is full time, 37.5hours per week and is based on site at Walsall.
Essential experience of the Head of Production and Site Operations:
- Automotive and/or defence or manufacturing experience with understanding of fabrication and metal work would be advantageous.
- Experience of working in a regulatory environment.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, multi-factory manufacturing operations.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to lead change in a dynamic environment.
- Strong quality and/or process adherence experience
