About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Design Engineer.


You’ll assist in the design and development of mechanical and electrical design solutions, for a variety of specialist vehicle projects from concept through to manufacture.


You will create a concept from a brief and design a detailed drawing.


• Assist in the design and development of mechanical and electrical design solutions, for a variety of specialist vehicle projects from concept through to manufacture.
• Participate in the life cycle of product development.
• Create tailored documents to present new designs or modifications.
• Create operating instructions and project files.
• Interrogate design proposal drawings to verify design, components and assemblies.


What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need extensive Mechanical Design experience and Fabrication experience.


Would also like you to have experience in all or some of the following:

• Educated to Degree / HND standard or equivalent.
• CAD / 3D Modelling Qualifications.
• Proficient 3D and 2D CAD user.
• Highly computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Practical knowledge of materials and their properties for design and development.
