In this role, you will:

  • Review submarine technical documentation relating to repair and overhaul work, using a combination of job records inspection, analysis and audit processes to ensure full compliance with mandatory requirements

•           Undertake technical safety licensing support activities (Material Certification) for submarines in Extended Docking Work Periods (EDWP), and other work periods

•           Interpret Department of National Defence (DND) directed requirements and review Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) documentation provided in supplier and sub-contractor work records for compliance with specifications

•           Provide constructive feedback to stakeholders regarding common shortfalls identified in work records, to support continuous improvement

•           When tasked, conduct compliance inspections of submarine First Level (safety critical) technical documentation

•           When tasked, using the customer’s information systems (DWAN/DRMIS) prepare and process requests for customer technical approval for deviations from vessel/system design intent

•           Other duties as assigned



As our ideal candidate:

  • You have an accredited technical college diploma, or an acceptable combination of training and two (2) years’ experience in the last five (5) performing similar work
  • You have practical experience with technical documentation review/analysis and with quality assurance processes
  • Technologist or Technician Registration as AScT or CTech or equivalent, is an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marine systems and/or submarine technical experience is an asset
  • Qualification and experience as an auditor is an asset
  • Experience with DND information systems including DWAN/DRMIS is an asset
  • You are eligible for required Security Clearances: NATO SECRET, CGP positive security assessment and ITAR positive assessment
