In this role, you will:

 

  • Review paint/structural surveys, technical queries and inspection reports and provide technical responses or engineering specifications, deviations or waiver requests
  • Generate and review contract change documentation
  • Provide technical input to configuration change package development, implementation and as-fitted drawings
  • Provide engineering support to the build-up and commissioning of Hull systems.
  • Draft repair specifications, including technical drawing packs, for arising technical issues on the platform
  • Provide engineering mentorship to EIT’s for issues related to structural analysis, material selection, mechanical fasteners and alignment issues
  • Witness inspection points, participate in Joint Test Groups and/or witness test form execution
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the On Site Management Team, Production, Project, Material Certifications, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain Departments
  • Actively seek and implement opportunities for improvements around efficiency and product quality
  • Promote a culture of value engineering and schedule adherence within the team
  • Interface with customers, regulatory bodies, on site customer representatives and customer design and system authorities
  • Other duties as required

 

As our ideal candidate,

 

  • You possess an understanding of submarine structures, design and maintenance issues
  • You have the professional competence and demonstrated capability to oversee the development of a technical solution to a specified requirement
  • You possess approximately 10 years engineering experience
  • You possess a Naval architecture degree from an accredited Canadian university/educational institute or recognized foreign equivalent
  • You are a Professional Engineer
  • You have excellent written, verbal, electronic reporting and data communication skills
  • Required security clearance: NATO SECRET and CGP positively security assessed
