In this role, you will:

 

  • Provide management and leadership to a team of schedulers
  • Prepare and maintain schedules for activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements, including provision of risk analysis on schedules
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project structures (work breakdown structure / organization breakdown structure / resource breakdown structure / cost breakdown structure) consistent with project targets and objectives and consistent with commitments to the customer
  • Co-ordinate day to day duties of team, ensure that all work in the area is allocated correctly and sufficient coverage is in place during absences
  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to less experienced staff
  • Develop, baseline and maintain the project integrated schedule (Level 1-3) such that resources can be committed efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure alignment between the integrated scheduling toolset and the Company’s financial and material demand toolset, including alignment of any Level 4/5 schedules
  • Produce regular status update of the integrated schedule and providing metrics (e.g. critical path/total float) and schedule analysis of the impact to the project
  • Produce resource and cost loaded schedules and provide financial status of the project to inform the Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
  • Provide services to conduct time risk analysis on 2nd level schedules in line with key program review points
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project controls measures and metrics to demonstrate schedule adherence and continual performance improvement
  • Support the EVM Process and Procedure
  • Produce and circulate schedule and risk analysis updates monthly, including key milestones and status against targets and objectives and inform the baseline
  • Carry out critical path analysis of the integrated schedule on a regular basis, circulating management information to inform project resources
  • Other duties as assigned

 

The ideal candidate brings:

 

  • Have a relevant professional qualification in a scheduling related program (e.g. PMI-SP, PSP AACE, PMP or equivalent)
  • Have 8+ years’ experience in management of schedules for multi-disciplined projects, including Earned Value (EV) and critical path analysis and management
  • Have experience managing a scheduling team
  • Have experience in a PMO environment on multiple projects of varying type and project cycle phase
  • Have experience in preparing and maintaining schedules of project and/or programme activities and events (taking account of dependencies and resource requirements)
  • Have experience in gathering independent evidence and determining that the information from projects and/or programmes is valid and will achieve their aims
  • Have proficient knowledge of scheduling toolsets and methodologies, schedule management, resource management, consolidated planning in complex situations
  • Have experience in the application of establishing critical paths and the monitoring of these in complex situations
  • Have proficient knowledge of timescale risk analysis technique
  • Have proficient knowledge of contract management, and project management techniques
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
