In this role, you will:

 

  • Utilize Project Management methodology to schedule all activities, and then manage the project to meet the key events dates established in the schedule
  • Manage internal and external project communications, ensuring Stakeholders and our Customers are kept up to date
  • Focus on project delivery, utilizing skills and experience to accelerate activities to meet or better the project cost and schedule targets
  • Actively manage project scope, schedule, cost and quality while following the applicable processes and procedures
  • Establish budgets and forecasts and subsequently manage activities to remain within the budget  
  • Coordination of all project and consultant activities
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring to the team members to maximize their potential and ensure a healthy team
  • Ensure resource demands and priorities are communicated to key players
  • Make early predictions of any overspends against budget and apply mitigation actions
  • Develop and actively manage project risks in consultation with corporate policy
  • Maintain the quality of the product delivered to our Customers 
  • Develop and deliver appropriate project progress and status reports
  • Participate in procurement planning and prepare tender documents
  • Act as the representative of the project director or project manager, within Babcock delegated signing authority
  • Travel as required throughout Canada to possibly remote sites
  • Conduct occasional minor manual labour such as moving furniture and furniture assembly
  • Other duties as necessary     
     

As our ideal candidate,

 

  • You have a minimum 5 years’ experience in an Infrastructure project leadership role in conjunction with holding a PMP Certification or equivalent; or a minimum of 8 years’ experience
  • You hold a minimum of Certified Engineering Technologist certificate
  • You display a sound working knowledge of Project Management Principles and understand what the requirements of the business are to successfully deliver
  • You have experience communicating effectively with senior managers, customers and stakeholders 
  • You have excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation in front of groups
  • You demonstrate advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and a working familiarity with at least one version of common scheduling software
  • You have a broad engineering/technical background is an asset
  • Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
