In this role, you will:

- Develop and maintaining an effective working relationship with strategic subcontractors on major programs
- Be the single point of contact with strategic subcontractors for contract issues
- Work as part of Babcock team to resolve subcontractor issues
- Collaborate with project managers to develop work packages, statements of work (SOW) and manage workflows through the approval process
- Analyse subcontractor proposals, establish negotiation strategies and identify risks/opportunities
- Ensure subcontract documentation meets Babcock Canada’s Commercial policies and procedures
- Work closely with Procurement Team
- Work closely with export compliance personnel to ensure subcontractor compliance with all relevant export regulations
- Work as part of Babcock team to manage subcontractor performance to cost, delivery/schedule, quality, and technical and contractual requirements
- Grow supplier relationships to ensure continued or improved performance levels are achieved
- Consult with Commercial Leads and Sr Commercial managers in the resolution of complex commercial issues.
- Be responsible for reporting and achieving program milestones including but not limited to cost, schedule, and quality
- Manage and maintain subcontract data in relevant databases
- Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate brings:
You have at least 8 years of subcontract management experience particularly management of major subcontracts critical to programme delivery
You have at least 6 years of experience in the Marine Sector
- You hold a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics, or degree/diploma in a related field An appropriate combination of education and experience may also be considered
- You have knowledge of commercial business practices
- Experience working with third party suppliers
- Experience sourcing, negotiating target rates, and awarding subcontracts for technical services
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (CSSBB) or equivalent would be considered an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Project would be considered an asset
- Proven communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date as well as any COVID boosters recommended by public health authorities
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
